The honeymoon.

I know, I'm kind of skipping around and neglecting our wedding blog. Not that I don't want to talk about our wedding, I am just waiting for on our professional pictures. I'm told we should be receiving those soon.

Scott and I went to St. Lucia for a 4 night 5 day honeymoon; June 8-12. We flew from Detriot to Atlanta (an hour layover) and then onto St. Lucia. We booked our honeymoon through Sandals and we were super excited about the all inclusive resort. That is until we arrived. We were told that they had no rooms available and that we would be taken to another resort (not Sandals). As you can probably imagine, we were not pleased to hear the news; especially since we made our reservations in November 2009 and paid in full. Nonetheless, we tried to make the most out of our experience regardless of the circumstances.

The first night we stayed at a resort called Rendezvous. We had a pretty nice room there, one that over looked the water and had a hammock out on the wooded balcony.
Our bed was behind those sheers and elevated a few steps higher than the rest of the room.

2nd night:
We went to Sandals and waited a while for our room. We weren't pleased about the slow process they made to accommodate us (we do not recommend sandals). It rained almost all day so we spent the day being "fat kids"!! lol

at dinner...yes, Scott is wearing linen :-) I picked him up a cute (manly) outfit for the honeymoon. Oh, and see Connie, I did wear those earrings almost everyday!

lol, Scott was trying to get a picture with us and the Sandals sign. I think this picture is cute because it captures that I really am 8 inches shorter than Scott (6'2" vs 5'6")

♥ I just love this picture! ♥

Day 3:
We woke up fairly early and did a boat cruise of St. Lucia. The weather was perfect which made for a fun filled day. We visited the Piton Mountains, Diamond Botanical Garden , we had lunch on top of this hotel in Soufriere St. Lucia, and on the way back to the dock we stopped and snorkeled.

:-) I love my hat as well!

here we go!

We actually stood in between those two mountains

That's a cashew... they explained to us how they become the cashew you eat- which explained why cashews are more expensive than the other nuts

it smelled really bad!!

Another cute couple we met; Kat and Sam. They got married on the same day as us (along with 75% of the people at the hotel)

this was Scott's idea-he wrote this in the sand

I did this one lol

Day 4:
We spent the day just hanging out at Sandals. We first enjoyed a couples massage, did some water sports, relaxed on the beach, enjoyed and made full use of the pool's swim up bar, went to a street party and a hibachi grill for dinner.

This was a good idea in theory, until we got out and realized we had to paddle back in

last day:
we had breakfast, and packed up to head home.

All in all we had a lovely honeymoon despite the resort mishap.
